The production team behind the TV anime adaptation of Mercedes and the Waning Moon has released a second promotional video, which serves to introduce four additional voice actors to the project. Among the newly announced cast members are Kenta Miyake, Junichi Suwabe, and Ai Kayano, who will join the ensemble for the series scheduled to debut in January 2027.

The anime is based on the light novel series written by Firehead, which originally launched on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2018. The story follows Mercedes Grunewald, a young girl reincarnated as a vampire born to a noble father and his shunned concubine. Aware that her father will eventually choose an heir other than herself, Mercedes faces an uncertain future with a mother who lacks skills and an aging maid. To ensure their survival, she begins training for dungeon crawling at the age of a kindergartener, leveraging her vampire heritage to become strong enough to provide for her family.

The source material has seen significant expansion since its inception. TO Books began publishing the novels with illustrations by KeG in 2021, releasing the fifth volume digitally on July 15. Additionally, a manga adaptation illustrated by Pochi Edoyala started serialization on TO Books' Comic Corona website in 2021, with the sixth compiled book volume also released on July 15. J-Novel Club currently publishes the novel series in English digitally.
