The official website for Avex Pictures and Tatsunoko Production announced on Friday that a new theatrical CG anime titled Pole Princess!!: Croix du Nord will begin screening in six theaters across Japan on January 29. The event is scheduled to run for two weeks. This new installment is a 60-minute production that includes a pole dance show and introduces a new character named Luchika Hiyori, whose name romanization remains unconfirmed. The character was designed by tomari.
The anime features a returning voice cast including Rio Tsuchiya, Anna Suzuki, Yui Ogura, Minami Hinata, Yoshino Nanjō, Rina Hidaka, Saori Hayami, and Rie Kugimiya. Key staff members also return for the project, with Hitomi Ezoe serving as director and Tōko Machida writing the screenplay. Yoshihiro Otobe returns as CG Director, while tomari handles original character designs and Kotono Sakurai is responsible for animation character designs. The music is composed by Kenta Higashiohji under Avex Pictures' production, with KAORI from STUDIO TRANSFORM acting as the pole dancing supervisor. Tatsunoko Production leads the animation production, and Avex Film Labels will handle distribution.
The story of Croix du Nord takes place after the events of the Pole Dance Japan Cup. The narrative follows the Galaxy Princesses group, who receive a phone call from a member of the rival team Aile d'Ange offering them a guest appearance at an event hosted by the latter. Upon accepting the offer, a mysterious girl suddenly visits Azumi Studio.
The franchise previously debuted with a prologue episode 0 in December 2022, followed by a five-minute net anime on YouTube in January 2023, eventually expanding to seven episodes. The series centers on Hinano Hoshikita, a mild-mannered 17-year-old girl whose grandmother ran a planetarium that was set to close. After witnessing a woman pole dancing under a starry sky, Hinano gathers her friends to create a stage within the planetarium, leading them into the world of pole dancing. A feature film in the franchise opened in Japan in November 2023, focusing on the Pole Dance Japan Cup competition where the Galaxy Princesses faced the four-time champion team, Aile d'Ange.
While Avex Pictures stated in November 2023 that the anime film would receive an international release, it has not yet debuted in North America. The original work is credited to both Avex Pictures and Tatsunoko Production.
